I have read both of Anne Miller’s books, Permission to Speak Freely and Mad Church Disease. Both are worth reading. But Permission to Speak Freely is one of those books that I think all Christians should read. It is relatively short, it is focused on grace, but acknowledges the brokenness of the world and of the people within the church and it is focused on bringing people toward healing.
I read it initially when it was first published and again a second time. I actually downloaded it again and put it on my kindle to read again this summer.
Anne Jackson, now Anne Miller, has recently been married. She and her publisher Thomas Nelson is going to revise and re-release the book with her new name and some new material. So Ann is giving away five copies of Permission to Speak Freely. All you have to do is go to her blog and leave a comment about what you wish you could say in church. She will randomly choose five people on May 14th.
