# Best of Best of 2012 Books List

[![Bring Up the Bodies](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51mHY1asr6L._BO2,204,203,200_PIsitb-sticker-arrow-click,TopRight,35,-76_AA300_SH20_OU01_.jpg)](http://www.amazon.com/Bring-Up-Bodies-Hilary-Mantel/dp/0805090037/)The website [Flavorwire.com consulted 16 different Best Books of 2012 lists](http://www.flavorwire.com/355928/the-books-that-made-the-most-best-of-2012-book-lists/7) and counted how many times each of book was mentioned to create a Best of Best of 2012 Books List.

According to the this method, the best book of the year is [Bringing up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel](http://www.amazon.com/Bring-Up-Bodies-Hilary-Mantel/dp/0805090037/), it was mentioned in 8 of the 16 lists.  There were four books mentioned in [seven](http://www.flavorwire.com/355928/the-books-that-made-the-most-best-of-2012-book-lists/6) of the lists.  [Gone Girl](http://www.amazon.com/Gone-Girl-Novel-Gillian-Flynn/dp/030758836X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1356048814&sr=1-1&keywords=gone+girl) was mentioned in six of the lists. Three books were mentioned [five times](http://www.flavorwire.com/355928/the-books-that-made-the-most-best-of-2012-book-lists/4).  Seven books were mentioned [four times](http://www.flavorwire.com/355928/the-books-that-made-the-most-best-of-2012-book-lists/3).  Seven books were mentioned [three times](http://www.flavorwire.com/355928/the-books-that-made-the-most-best-of-2012-book-lists/2) and 21 books were mentioned [twice](http://www.flavorwire.com/355928/the-books-that-made-the-most-best-of-2012-book-lists).

That makes a total of 44 books mentioned at least twice, but 150 books mentioned at least once.  The method makes sense, but there are a lot of books.  Books are a lot about taste and reviewers have a wide variety of tastes.
