# More Best of 2012 Books Lists

Slate posted their [Best Books of 2012](http://www.slate.com/articles/arts/books/2012/11/best_books_2012_slate_staff_picks_their_favorites.html) and then the [Most Overlooked Books of 2012](http://www.slate.com/articles/arts/books/2012/11/underrated_books_overlooked_fiction_and_nonfiction_of_2012.html).  That along with the New York Times Lists of [Best Children’s Books](http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/02/books/review/notable-childrens-books-of-2012.html) and [100 Notable Books of 2012](http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/02/books/review/100-notable-books-of-2012.html), The [2012 National Books Award Winners](https://bookwi.se/2012-national-book-award-winners/) and the [Amazon Lists of Best Books of 2012](http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=br_lf_m_1000852191_pglink_next?ie=UTF8&docId=1000852191&plgroup=1&plpage=1) and Best [Children’s Books of 2012](http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=chp_banner_kidsbest?ie=UTF8&node=6129451011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-1&pf_rd_r=2CD2777870C448DFBB9F&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1420102282&pf_rd_i=4).  There are some overlaps, but out of the 200 or so unduplicated best books of 2012, I have read precisely one of them (Divergent which was on Amazon’s best Teen Books list).

It is not that I don’t read, I am on track to read between 180 and 190 books this year.  Part of it is that I read more genre fiction and Christian non-fiction, both of which tend to not show up on these Best of.. lists.  But there are just so many books!

I will start putting together my best of list for the year in the next couple weeks.  What are your best books of 2012 (whether written or read in 2012)?
