# NPR’s Best Books of 2012

[![NPR Book](https://bookwi.se/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/screenshot_45.jpg)](http://www.npr.org/series/165293711/best-books-of-2012)NPR posted their best books of 2012 in four categories. They are [Best Biographies of 2012](http://www.npr.org/2012/12/17/166899101/true-originals-biographies-that-defy-expectations), [Best Mysteries of 2012](http://www.npr.org/2012/12/19/167449314/in-2012-s-best-mysteries-mean-girls-rule), [Best Young Adult of 2012](http://www.npr.org/2012/12/20/167562764/5-young-adult-novels-that-youll-never-outgrow?utm_source=NPR&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=20121220) and [Best Romance of 2012](http://www.npr.org/2012/12/18/166899442/romantic-reads-from-shakespeare-to-steampunk-heavy-on-the-steam).  (Of course NPR’s titles are different, but that is what the mean.)  Each list is five books with a description of the and why they liked it.  Yet again, I only read one of the the 20 books (Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child – my review).  Beside not having heard of more than half the books on the lists, I think that this is the first young adult list I have seen that has not included [The Fault in Our Stars](http://www.amazon.com/Fault-Our-Stars-John-Green/dp/0525478817).
