Carolyn Webber, author of Surprised by Oxford, [one of my favorite books of the year last year](https://bookwi.se/surprised/), has been blogging about books by Dead People.  It is a very good series of post.  So far she has written about [The Bible](http://www.pressingsave.com/the-bible-the-most-compelling-piece-of-creative-non-fiction-i-have-ever-read), John Milton’s [Paradise Lost](http://www.pressingsave.com/john-milton-how-sin-kills-you-long-before-you-die), William Blake’s [Songs of Innocence](http://www.pressingsave.com/william-blake-how-to-grow-a-poison-tree), Platonicus’s [Metamorphoses](http://www.pressingsave.com/apuleiuss-cupid-and-psyche-why-love-is-blind-before-it-can-see) (or the Golden Ass), CS Lewis’s [Till We Have Faces](http://www.pressingsave.com/cs-lewis-and-the-journey-of-the-soul) (which is loosely based on the same story as Metamorphoses and which [I reviewed](https://bookwi.se/faces-lewis/) last year), Jane Austen’s [Persuasion](http://www.pressingsave.com/jane-austens-power-of-persuasion-the-grace-of-a-love-letter) and Mary Shelley’s [Frankenstein](http://www.pressingsave.com/mary-shelleys-frankenstein-and-our-struggle-with-god-part-i)

Weber is a former literature professor and now full time writer.  She is well worth reading.
