The Emerging Scholars Blog is doing a March Madness style tournament to determine the best Christian Book of All Time. Round one is over and there is a post detailing all the winners and losers.
We have Bernard of Clairvaux losing decisively to CS Lewis and Rick Warren losing an even more lop-sided battle to Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
But other battles were much closer. Summa Theologica by Aquinas narrowly beat out Athanasius’ On the Incarnation.
Don’t worry if you haven’t read all the books. Go ahead and vote. After all in good American Democratic fashion, ignorance should not stop voting 🙂
Adam, how many of those 64 books have you read?
if you include the books that I have read part of (and that is most of the old ones) then 41. A lot of the old ones I had to read parts of in seminary. But fully read, I think 21.
That didn’t keep me from voting in all the races though 🙂
